Humanitarian and disaster relief support

Among other activities, Canon Optron actively engages in the ECOCAP movement. We also run fundraising campaigns for disaster relief efforts.

Used stamp collection

We have set up boxes for the collection of used stamps. Used stamps have resale value. We sell them to stamp collectors all over the world, and the proceeds are used to offset some of the costs of international healthcare cooperative efforts, providing funds for the dispatch of medical staff to areas that lack healthcare resources and support, as well as to aid healthcare activities by individuals and organizations in these areas.

Ecocap collection

As part of the ECOCAP campaign, we collect the caps of used PET bottles for recycling. Besides reducing CO2 emissions, the earnings from recycling the caps help to fund the delivery of vaccines to children in developing countries. We collect caps from in-house consumption as well as those that our employees collect and bring from home.

Blood donation drives

We work with Red Cross Japan to conduct in-house blood donation drives. So many employees donate blood every year that the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare sends us a letter of appreciation.

Fundraising activities

We set up donation boxes in-house to raise funds for disaster relief in the event of large-scale domestic or overseas natural disasters.
